The Vase (2004)

A stranger appears, urging Jack on a surreal but urgent mission involving a blue glass vase…

This is the second movie I made in my high school's "Advanced Movie-Making" class, and by far the most ambitious. It's telling that this is the first movie I actually wrote a screenplay for, and the overall high-concept idea is much more developed than in the other North Hills Pictures. The prompt we were given was to create a "dream sequence" of sorts, but we were given strict instructions not to simply end with a cliché "Phew... it was just a dream!" I think I succeeded in mixing that up a bit...

The Vase was again shot with my dad's Sony Digital8 camera, and edited using iMovie on the school's Apple eMacs.

As a fun (and slightly spoiler-y) ret-con, in my mind the events of this film take place in the same world as my later 16mm film, Remember the Chase...
